Venice & the Northern Lakes
This is northern Italy at its most refined: the golden mosaics of St. Mark's, Verona's Roman streets and the cypress-lined shores of Lake Como. Over seven seamless, elegant days your group moves from Venice's canals to the villa-fringed lakes — private cruises, gondolas and centuries of art in a single week.
Day by Day
Day 1
Arrival in Venice
Your group arrives at Venice Marco Polo Airport, where your BRACAP Tour Manager is waiting. A smooth transfer brings the group across the lagoon to your hotel, and the afternoon is free to wander St. Mark's Square or the quiet lanes of Dorsoduro. In the evening, a welcome dinner of classic Venetian cuisine gathers everyone together for the week ahead.
Day 2
The Splendours of Venice
The morning is devoted to Venice's two great icons: a guided visit inside St. Mark's Basilica, glittering with golden mosaics, followed by the Doge's Palace and the Bridge of Sighs. After lunch near the Rialto Market, the group boards gondolas for a glide through the quieter back canals. The evening is free to linger over an aperitivo as the lagoon turns gold.
Day 3
Murano & Burano — Islands of the Lagoon
A slower morning before a boat carries the group across the lagoon to Murano, where master glassmakers shape molten crystal before your eyes. Burano follows — an island of lace-making tradition and fishermen's houses painted every colour imaginable. Lunch on the island, then a leisurely return through the lagoon with time for a final Venetian evening at your own pace.
Day 4
Verona — City of Romeo & Juliet
Leaving the lagoon behind, the coach heads west to Verona, a city of rose-coloured marble and Shakespearean romance. A guided walk leads through Piazza delle Erbe and past the mighty Roman Arena to the courtyard of Juliet's balcony, where your group joins a tradition of lovers from around the world. The evening is free to dine beneath Verona's elegant arcades. Overnight in Verona.
Day 5
Sirmione & the Shores of Lake Como
The morning brings Lake Garda and the enchanting peninsula town of Sirmione, its Scaliger Castle rising straight from the water. Time to wander the narrow lanes and lakeside promenades before lunch overlooking the harbour. In the afternoon the coach continues west through Lombardy, arriving on the shores of Lake Como in time for an evening stroll along the waterfront. Overnight in Como.
Day 6
Lake Como & Bellagio
The day belongs to Italy's most glamorous lake. A boat cruise glides past villa-lined shores and terraced gardens to Bellagio, the pearl of the lake, poised where Como's two branches meet. Time to explore its stepped lanes and silk boutiques, with lunch overlooking the water. Back in Como by late afternoon, the week closes with a farewell dinner of Lombard specialities.
Day 7
Milan & Departure
After a final lakeside breakfast the coach makes the short journey to Milan for a farewell look at the city's grand centrepiece: the marble spires of the Duomo and the glass-vaulted Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II. Your BRACAP Tour Manager then coordinates all transfers to Milan's airports, assisting with check-in and luggage and leaving your group with memories of seven refined days in northern Italy.
