    Montenegro & Albania's Wild Coast

    Duration8 Days
    CountryAlbania, Montenegro, Greece

With the Bay of Kotor and Our Lady of the Rocks behind it, your group crosses from Montenegro into Albania, where Rozafa Castle, Tirana and the Ottoman towns of Berat and Gjirokastër lead south to the Blue Eye and the ruins of Butrint. A family winery, two UNESCO old towns and a short ferry to Corfu shape eight days along the Adriatic and Ionian coasts.

    Day by Day

    1

    Day 1

    Arrival on the Budva Riviera

Your group lands at Tivat Airport, where a BRACAP representative is waiting for the short transfer along the coast to Budva. After check-in, the evening leads into the walled old town of Budva, with its stone lanes and citadel above the Adriatic, before a welcome dinner of Adriatic seafood. Overnight in Budva.

    2

    Day 2

Kotor & Our Lady of the Rocks

Breakfast, then the coach follows the shore of the Bay of Kotor to Kotor, a UNESCO site where a licensed guide leads the group from the Sea Gate to the Cathedral of St Tryphon, with an optional climb up the ramparts to the fortress. In the afternoon a boat from Perast reaches Our Lady of the Rocks, an islet chapel raised by local sailors. Overnight in Budva.

    3

    Day 3

    Sveti Stefan to Shkodër

After breakfast the coast road runs south past the islet of Sveti Stefan, with a photo stop above its beach, before crossing into Albania. Shkodër is reached for lunch, and the afternoon climbs to Rozafa Castle, high above the lake and its rivers, before a walk along the pedestrian streets of the old town. Overnight in Shkodër.

    4

    Day 4

Tirana on the Way to Berat

Breakfast, then south to Tirana, where a licensed guide introduces the colourful centre: Skanderbeg Square, the Et'hem Bey Mosque and Bunk'Art 2, a Cold War bunker turned museum. After lunch the coach continues to Berat, the "city of a thousand windows", where the evening light falls on the white Ottoman houses of Mangalem. Overnight in Berat.

    5

    Day 5

    Berat Castle & Albanian Wine

After breakfast the guide leads the group up to the citadel of Berat, still inhabited, with its Byzantine churches and the Onufri Museum of icons. The afternoon brings a tasting at a family winery in the surrounding hills, where native grape varieties grow below Mount Tomorr. The evening is free along the riverside promenade. Overnight in Berat.

    6

    Day 6

    Gjirokastër, the Stone City

Breakfast, then the road runs south through the Vjosa valley to Gjirokastër, the stone city above the Drino valley and a UNESCO site alongside Berat. A guided visit climbs to the fortress and enters one of the Ottoman tower houses, before the evening is free among the lanes of the old bazaar. Overnight in Gjirokastër.

    7

    Day 7

    Blue Eye & Butrint

After breakfast the road crosses the hills toward the coast, stopping at the Blue Eye, a spring of deep blue water. A licensed guide then leads the group through Butrint, a UNESCO site where Greek, Roman, Byzantine and Venetian ruins lie in a forest beside the lagoon, before the evening in Saranda on the Ionian Sea. Overnight in Saranda.

    8

    Day 8

    Across the Strait to Corfu

Breakfast, then free time for a last walk along the seafront of Saranda. At the agreed hour a transfer to the port meets the ferry across the strait to Corfu, where a private transfer takes the group from the harbour to Corfu Airport. End of our services.
