Porto Under the Lens
Porto's UNESCO old town, the Ribeira quayside and the terraced Douro Valley set the ground for this study of heritage under pressure. Three days carry your group from the tiled halls of São Bento to DOP viticulture on the river slopes, with each site read as a live management case rather than a photo stop.
Day by Day
Day 1
Between Tiles & the River
Your group lands at Porto Airport and transfers to the accommodation for a luggage drop-off. The walk starts at Mercado do Bolhão, the city's most authentic social heart, then São Bento station and its twenty thousand historic tiles, Rua das Flores and the Sé Cathedral. Descending the Barredo alleys brings the group to Cais da Ribeira and the iron span of the Luís I Bridge. Group dinner and overnight in Porto.
Day 2
Douro Terraces & DOP Viticulture
After breakfast the group leaves for a full day in the Douro Valley, a World Heritage landscape of dramatic terraces and centuries of tradition. A local vineyard hosts the session on wine tourism, where students weigh the commercial value of Protected Designation of Origin and organic labels and how those certifications position Douro wines at home and abroad. A technical tasting closes the analysis before the return to Porto for dinner and overnight.
Day 3
Open Morning & Porto Farewell
The morning stays open for thematic activities chosen by the group: independent exploration, additional site visits or an academic debrief of the two previous days. The Tour Manager remains on hand for logistical coordination and support throughout. In the afternoon a private coach collects the group at the accommodation for the transfer to Porto Airport, closing the programme.
