    Andalusia & the Moorish South

    Duration8 Days
    CountrySpain

A thousand years of Moorish and Christian history distil into one unhurried southern circuit. Seville's orange-scented patios open the week; Córdoba's Mezquita, the Alhambra beneath Granada's snow-capped backdrop and clifftop Ronda follow, with an evening of live flamenco woven in — eight days through the very soul of Andalusia.

    Day by Day

    1

    Day 1

    Welcome to Andalusia

Your group lands at Málaga or Seville airport, where your BRACAP Tour Manager is waiting. A comfortable coach transfer brings everyone to Seville and your centrally located 4★ hotel. The rest of the day is free to settle in — stroll the banks of the Guadalquivir, cross into Triana or find a terrace for a first taste of Andalusian life.

    2

    Day 2

    Monumental Seville

A full day among Seville's greatest treasures. The morning opens with a guided visit to Seville Cathedral, the largest Gothic cathedral in the world, and a climb up the Giralda tower. After lunch near the Barrio de Santa Cruz, the afternoon belongs to the Real Alcázar, a royal palace where Mudéjar courtyards and tiled halls unfold one after another.

    3

    Day 3

    Hidden Seville & Evening Flamenco

The morning is a guided walk through the whitewashed lanes of the Barrio de Santa Cruz, Seville's old Jewish quarter, followed by the sweeping half-moon of Plaza de España in María Luisa Park. The afternoon is free for shopping along Calle Sierpes or simply watching the city go by. In the evening the group gathers for a live flamenco show, an art form born in Andalusia.

    4

    Day 4

    Córdoba & the Mezquita

Leaving Seville behind, the coach follows the Guadalquivir valley to Córdoba, once the capital of Moorish Spain. A guided visit to the Mezquita-Cathedral reveals its forest of more than 850 columns and striped arches, followed by a wander through the flower-filled patios of the Judería. After lunch in the old town, the journey continues east to Granada for a two-night stay.

    5

    Day 5

    The Alhambra & Generalife

A day devoted to Spain's most visited monument. Your local guide leads the group through the Alhambra — the Nasrid Palaces with their carved stucco and reflecting pools, the Alcazaba fortress and the summer gardens of the Generalife. After lunch below the hill, the afternoon offers free time around the cathedral quarter and the silk-market lanes of the Alcaicería.

    6

    Day 6

The Albaicín & Onward to Ronda

The morning explores the Albaicín, Granada's UNESCO-listed Moorish quarter, climbing whitewashed alleys to the Mirador de San Nicolás and its celebrated view of the Alhambra against the Sierra Nevada. After lunch, the coach heads west across olive country to Ronda, arriving in time for an evening stroll to the clifftop edge of one of Spain's oldest towns.

    7

    Day 7

    Ronda & the White Villages

Ronda reveals itself in the morning light: a guided walk crosses the Puente Nuevo, the 18th-century bridge spanning the 98-metre El Tajo gorge, and visits one of Spain's oldest bullrings. The afternoon winds through the pueblos blancos — whitewashed villages such as Setenil de las Bodegas, built beneath overhanging rock — before returning to Ronda for a final Andalusian evening.

    8

    Day 8

    Farewell to Andalusia

After a leisurely final breakfast in Ronda there is time for a last look over the gorge before your BRACAP Tour Manager coordinates the transfer to Málaga or Seville airport. The team assists with check-in and luggage, leaving your group with the colours, rhythms and Moorish splendour of eight remarkable days in southern Spain.
