    London, Paris & Rome

    Duration10 Days
    CountryUnited-kingdom, France, Italy

Whichever capital your group has dreamed of most, this journey gives each of the three its own nights and guides: the Tower and Westminster in London, the Louvre and Versailles in Paris, the Colosseum and the Vatican in Rome. The Eurostar under the Channel links the first two, and private transfers meet the group at every station and airport on the way.

    Day by Day

    1

    Day 1

    Arrival in London

Your group lands at London Heathrow Airport, where a BRACAP representative is waiting for the private transfer into the city. After check-in, an evening walk follows the South Bank of the Thames past the London Eye, with the Houses of Parliament lit across the river. A welcome dinner opens a journey through three European capitals. Overnight in London.

    2

    Day 2

    Royal London & Westminster

Breakfast, then a licensed guide leads the group through royal London: Buckingham Palace and the Changing of the Guard when it takes place, the Mall and Trafalgar Square. In the afternoon the group visits Westminster Abbey, where monarchs have been crowned for almost a thousand years, beside the Houses of Parliament and the tower of Big Ben. Overnight in London.

    3

    Day 3

Tower of London & the Thames

After breakfast the guide leads the group into the Tower of London, the fortress on the Thames where the Crown Jewels are kept and the Yeoman Warders still stand guard. A walk across Tower Bridge follows, with the towers of the City rising behind. The afternoon is free for the British Museum, Covent Garden or the shops of Oxford Street. Overnight in London.

    4

    Day 4

    Eurostar to Paris

Breakfast, then a transfer to St Pancras International, where the group boards the Eurostar through the Channel Tunnel to Paris Gare du Nord. The coach waits for the drive to the hotel. Late in the afternoon a river cruise on the Seine passes Notre-Dame, the Louvre and the Eiffel Tower as the lights come on along the quays. Overnight in Paris.

    5

    Day 5

    Notre-Dame & the Louvre

Breakfast, then a licensed guide leads a panoramic tour of Paris, from the Arc de Triomphe down the Champs-Élysées to the Île de la Cité and the restored cathedral of Notre-Dame. In the afternoon the group enters the Louvre through its glass pyramid for the Mona Lisa, the Venus de Milo and the Winged Victory. The evening is free. Overnight in Paris.

    6

    Day 6

    Versailles & Montmartre

After breakfast the coach heads west to the Palace of Versailles, where a guided visit leads through the state apartments and the Hall of Mirrors before time in the formal gardens. Back in Paris, the afternoon climbs the hill of Montmartre to the white domes of Sacré-Cœur and the painters' square of the Place du Tertre. Overnight in Paris.

    7

    Day 7

    Paris to Rome

Breakfast, then a private transfer to the Paris airport for the flight south to Italy, a leg that is not included and is booked separately. On arrival at Rome Fiumicino the coach takes the group into the city. In the evening a walk leads to the Trevi Fountain and up the Spanish Steps, with a coin thrown for a return. Overnight in Rome.

    8

    Day 8

    Colosseum & Roman Forum

Breakfast, then a licensed guide leads the group into the Colosseum, the great amphitheatre of ancient Rome, and on through the Roman Forum and up the Palatine Hill. In the afternoon the walk crosses the historic centre to the Pantheon and Piazza Navona, with its baroque fountains. The evening is free for dinner in the lanes of the old town. Overnight in Rome.

    9

    Day 9

    The Vatican & Trastevere

After breakfast the guide leads the group through the Vatican Museums, from the Raphael Rooms to the Sistine Chapel beneath Michelangelo's ceiling, and into St Peter's Basilica. The afternoon is free for a last walk or some shopping. In the evening a farewell dinner in Trastevere, across the Tiber, closes the journey. Overnight in Rome.

    10

    Day 10

    Farewell from Rome

Breakfast, then free time until the agreed hour for a last espresso in a Roman piazza or a final look at the Trevi Fountain. A private transfer then takes the group to Rome Fiumicino Airport, closing ten days that ran from the Thames and the Seine to the banks of the Tiber. End of our services.
